KNYEW Presents... KURTIS BLOW & KOOL MOE DEE!!!

June 10th, Wednesday night, KNYEW sponsored the "Oldschool Takeover" at Revolution Lounge in the Mirage. We had KNYEW's own DJ Neva killing it on the 1's and 2's and an incredible performance from the legendary Kurtis Blow & Kool Moe Dee. The party was crrraaaazzzzy!!! Definitely one of the most memorable events we've done. Many thanks to all our peoples who stopped through and celebrated the night with us. Big ups to Mustafa for making everything happen (even though it wasn't your birthday...hmmmm). Stay tuned for another one real soon...

Kurtis Blow & Kool Moe Dee @ Revolution

On Wednesday, June 10th at the Revolution Lounge inside the Mirage Hotel, KNYEW's own DJ Neva aka Black Panda will be spinning at the "Old School Takeover" with exclusive performances from Hip-Hop Legends Kurtis Blow & Kool Moe Dee. The evening will be hosted by Rocksteady Crew's own Mr. Freeze and it'll be a special birthday celebration for our boy Mustafa from the Light Group (Happy Bornday Son!!!). This is definitely a rare event for Vegas and I strongly urge everyone to make it out to Revolution this Wednesday night. Come through and witness hip-hop history...see yall there!!!

Here's Kurtis Blow's classic "If I Ruled The World". And yes, this is the original, not the one by Nas and Lauryn Hill.

This is a clip about the infamous Kool Moe Dee battle with Busy Bee. Changed the whole concept of freestyling and battling to this day.

Expect a lot more events from all of us at KNYEW. We're putting the finishing touches on a big monthly Monday night party coming up later this month. I'll have more details real soon...

Many thanks to 944 Magazine for looking out and a job well done to Mr. Kenny Knyewtron for hooking the whole thing up. Go pick up the new issue today!!!

Here's a closer look at the Johnson Mid in Caribbean Blue. We have limited sizes on this style and color but there's still more stock from the The Hundreds' Summer Footware left at the shop. For more styles and colors on The Hundreds Footware, click here.

MIXTAPE MONDAYS: "Big L Tribute" by DJ Soul

This week's entry for Mixtape Mondays is the "Big L 5/30 Tribute" from one of my very favorite DJ's in NYC, DJ Soul. If some of you didn't know, Big L, legendary Harlem rapper from the 90's and a member of the D.I.T.C. Crew, was tragically murdered in 1999 at the very blossoming of his musical career. May 30th just happened to be Big L's birthday and my man, DJ Soul, dropped this amazing mixtape last Saturday commemorating the young rapper's life and work. You can also find the mixtape available at DJ Soul's Blog "Mic Check" which is filled with incredible oldschool hip-hop/classic music downloads and updates on events & parties as well as news, fashion & current affairs. Soul's made countless classic mixtapes like "Diddy St. Tropez R&B Classics" and the critically acclaimed "Assorted Donuts: A Tribute to J-Dilla". From his insane reggae and 80's r&b sets in the clubs, to dj'ing for The Chappelle Show, DJ Soul is definitely a major icon in the NY hip-hop & nightlife scene. Many thanks for the mixtape my dude & I hope to catch you in NY sometime soon. Crooked signing out...
