Twice a year Las Vegas gets invaded by
M.A.G.I.C., an international trade show where buyers & sellers from every market of the retail fashion industry gather to showcase upcoming collections, place orders & acquire new brands & business. You'll see everyone from
Diamond Supply Co. &
Huf to Affliction & Rocawear peddling their new releases for next season. As retail buyers, me & the KNYEW Crew usually spend the day "walking the show", taking meetings with sellers & scouring the convention halls, looking for new brands for the shop. We have an incredible line-up of new streetwear companies arriving this year at KNYEW & we're excited to give you Knyewtrons a preview of what's to come for 2011...

We had an early morning start at MAGIC this year & stopped through the
PROJECT Show to talk to our boys at
Fresh Jive &
Herschel Supply Co. We'll have some great tees, cut & sew pieces & backpack accessories arriving in the next few months from these 2 incredible companies. Be on the look out.
During our meetings at
PROJECT, we noticed how great the music was in the convention hall & later found out it was our boy
DJ Rumor from New York.
DJ Rumor's
"90's R&B Mix" was featured on
Mixtape Mondays a few weeks ago. If you haven't downloaded his mix, check the
link for the free download. It's one of our favorites at the shop.
We made our way upstairs to the
SLATE Show where we bumped into our
Triumvir family, Richard Vaughn whose now working with
Orisue.
Kenn chopped it up with Kevin, another extension from the
Triumvir family whose also working with the
Orisue faction. It's no surprise that we'll be bringing in
Orisue clothing at KNYEW now that we got our fam from
Triumvir backing us up over at their new home.
We stopped by the
Orisue booth & finalized a couple of last minute orders for Spring & Summer 2011 with owner Allen & our sales rep Isaiah. Be on the look out for some great cut & sew pieces from
Orisue for this upcoming year.
We got a chance to connect with Jon, owner of
Fully Laced, a big hit at the shop last Fall. We'll hopefully be expecting more goodies from
Fully Laced sometime in the near future...keep us posted Jon!!
Bodega was in full effect at the SLATE Show switching out decks for a skating competition held at the convention halls upstairs.
Our boy Tachi at
Delicious Vinyl was kind enough to lace us with their new "Best of Pharcyde" dvd. To this day, their
"Passing Me By" &
"Drop" music videos are two of my all time favorites.
Rocksmith was busy busy busy at their booth this year. Their
Wu-Tang Collection has been absolutely killing it right now. Expect to see a lot more new Wu-Tang tees for Spring 2011...

DJ Tina-T was on the decks spinning breaks & breaking hearts at the SLATE Show.

DJ Earwaxx roaming the floors at SLATE (trying to snatch up some free gear no doubt).
After almost 8 hours, we had to wrap up our first day at MAGIC. The dogs were barking & our stomachs were growling...time to say peace!
