MIXTAPE MONDAYS: DJ Eleven

DJ Eleven...what can I say about this dude. I guess it all started when I heard him spin in 2001 at Joe's Pub in NY, quick mixing hip-hop, reggae and classic r &b flawlessly. We did a couple of parties together at Leopard Lounge aka Sin Sin later that year and ended up spinning at Light NY on 54th street, before it re-opened here in Vegas at the Bellagio (currently called "The Bank" now). He's 1/3 of the infamous Brooklyn DJ trio "THE RUB" (big ups to Cosmo & Ayres!) and he's made some of the best mixtapes I've ever heard, no lie. Some of my favorite mixtapes from Eleven's extensive collection is "The Glamourous Life vol. 1, 2, 3", "Best of The Bay", "Best of M.O.P" and "Houston for Dummies". This dude's always got something cooking constantly and just last week, Eleven laced me with this new mix he did "50 Minutes of Fresh" (a tribute to Mannie Fresh's music...check the link for the free download). I can't say enough great things about this cat. He's got a great website that you should check out (www.djeleven.com) and he's definitely a DJ's DJ so check his mixes and events.
